One drawer, several temperatures

A CoolDrawer starts in freezer mode and can be switched to fridge, chill, pantry or wine. After a change, the mode icon flashes until the drawer reaches temperature, which takes roughly one to six hours, so a drawer that feels wrong just after a change may simply still be settling.

The air path is at the toe-kick

Integrated models have a toe-kick grille and filter to clean every six months, and the CoolDrawer's air inlet duct is reached from the toe-kick too. Dust or pet hair there shows up as a unit that runs long and drifts warm.

Panel and seal alignment

Fisher & Paykel's own troubleshooting repeatedly checks whether the drawer panel is clashing with the surrounding cabinetry. A panel that catches keeps the seal from closing, which leads to warm food, condensation and ice buildup.

Codes read from beeps and lights

On integrated models, the refrigerator reports a problem through the number of beeps when the refrigerator door opens and the sequence of temperature lights on the internal panel. Recording both before a visit points the technician in the right direction.

Parts

Mechanical parts for current families are generally obtainable. Drawer slides, panels and trim fitted to specific cabinetry are the items more likely to take time.

My CoolDrawer buttons do not respond. Is the panel broken?
Usually not. The CoolDrawer control panel locks itself after 15 seconds without use and whenever the drawer closes. Unlock it as your user guide describes; if it still does not respond, book a visit.
My integrated Fisher & Paykel beeps when I open the refrigerator door. What should I do?
Count the beeps and note which temperature lights show on the internal panel, and in what order. That pattern is how the refrigerator reports a problem. Pressing any button silences the alarm; give us the count and pattern when you book.
Food is freezing in my CoolDrawer on fridge mode. Why?
Check where the food sits. Fisher & Paykel advises keeping chill-sensitive items away from the back wall, where the air outlets are. If food still freezes with the mode and setting confirmed, book a visit.
My CoolDrawer is hard to open. Is something broken?
In freezer mode the slides move less freely because of the low temperature, which is expected. Otherwise, check that the unit is level and that nothing is trapped in the drawer; extending the slides fully with a firm, even pull resets them.
