What Lincoln Park does

Lincoln Park takes its name from the lakefront park beside it, and the neighborhood stretches north from North Avenue along Lake Michigan.

The Great Chicago Fire of 1871 burned into its southern part before dying out near Fullerton Avenue, and the rebuilding that followed moved largely to brick.
