What Oak Park does

Oak Park is a village directly west of Chicago, about eleven miles from the Loop, served by two CTA rail lines and Metra.

Frank Lloyd Wright lived and worked here for about two decades, and the village holds the largest collection of his buildings along with many Prairie School houses by his contemporaries.

Much of its housing dates from the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries, from Queen Anne houses to Prairie-style homes and brick courtyard apartment buildings.
