New towers have gone up on the parcels between them, so converted lofts and recent construction share the same few blocks.

Loading is genuinely difficult here: the streets are narrow, the paving is rough, and the converted buildings depend on freight elevators with posted hours.

Tower living

A refrigerator reaches a tower apartment through a service lift and a building schedule, not through a front door. That single fact decides most of what follows: the units are built-in and panel-ready far more often than freestanding, replacement is a project rather than a purchase, and a repair that would be marginal on a suburban unit is obviously worth doing here.
