The control panel on the door of a refrigerator seen close, its display softly lit with no readable characters, the stainless door falling out of focus around it.

Asko refrigerator
showing PF

PF is a power-failure alarm: the supply was cut long enough for the inside to warm past the alarm level, and the unit tells you once power returns.

Book a visit

Three short steps, about a minute.

or call (844) 681-4650

Before you book,
in this order.

Each step comes from ASKO's own guidance for PF on its refrigerators. Follow it to the end: the last card says whether this is a visit.

01

Check the food before anything else; Asko's manual insists on it, because what warmed during the outage may have spoiled.

02

Silence the alarm: on an R31442I touch any key; on an RBR276 model press C once, then press C again to cancel the power-failure notice.

03

Keep the doors shut while the flashing temperature works its way back down to the setting.

04

Book a visit if a high temperature is still flashing many hours later with the doors closed.

Cleared?

Nothing needed repairing. If the refrigerator does not settle back to temperature, that is a separate problem.

What not to do

Silencing the tone does not mean the food is fine. The alarm reports what happened during the outage, and only you can judge what sat in the warm and for how long.

What you may
notice with it.

The refrigerator problem PF tends to arrive with. Answer these at the refrigerator before anyone is booked.

Questions
about PF.

Can I clear PF myself?
Check the food before anything else; Asko's manual insists on it, because what warmed during the outage may have spoiled.
Is my food safe after the Asko shows PF?
PF only tells you the inside got warm enough to trip the alarm while the power was out. Asko asks you to check the food first, because the display cannot tell you how long each item sat warm.
Does PF on an Asko mean the refrigerator needs repair?
Usually not, since the unit simply had no electricity to run on. Once the alarm is silenced and the doors stay shut, the flashing temperature should fall back to the setting; a reading that stays high for many hours is the point to book a visit.
