What F1
actually means.
F1 means the fan that moves cold air through the cooling compartment is malfunctioning. Unlike the sensor codes, there is no safe mode to fall back on: Asko says the appliance cannot operate normally.

A fan the control board expected to be turning is not — a motor that has failed, or ice holding the blade still.
Usually leads toFan and airflow repair
Two fans, two completely different failures — one stops the cold arriving, the other stops the heat leaving.
Shows up asRefrigerator Not Cooling
The compartment is warm but the appliance still has power and still makes noise.

Before you book,
in this order.
Each step comes from ASKO's own guidance for F1 on its refrigerators. Follow it to the end: the last card says whether this is a visit.
Move the food somewhere cold, such as another refrigerator or a cooler with ice, as the manual instructs.
Switch the appliance off once it is empty.
Book a visit for the compartment fan and leave the unit off until then.
What not to do
F1 is not a message you can wait out. Without that fan the compartment cannot hold its temperature, which is why the manual says to empty the unit and turn it off.
What you may
notice with it.
The refrigerator problem F1 tends to arrive with. Answer these at the refrigerator before anyone is booked.

Built-in refrigerator
Flush with the cabinets, serviced from the front, and almost always repaired rather than replaced.
Refrigerator column
Separate refrigerator and freezer towers, each with its own sealed system — so a failure stays on one side.
Undercounter refrigerator
A single 15 to 24 inch unit under the worktop — front-vented, tightly enclosed, and easily starved of air.
In ASKO's own words
