What F dH
actually means.
F dH says a freezer defrost ran and the sensor on the coil never climbed above 40°F, so the frost was not cleared. Sears lists the defrost fuse, the heater and the control board as the places to look. The LG-built 795 service manual gives the same failure as Er dH and adds a blocked drain and a weak heater relay to the list.

Before you book,
in this order.
Each step comes from Kenmore's own guidance for F dH on its refrigerators. Follow it to the end: the last card says whether this is a visit.
Read the model label; F dH carries this meaning on Kenmore numbers that start 795.
Move the food you most want to keep into a cooler or another freezer.
Book a visit so the fuse, heater, drain and relay can be tested in turn.
What not to do
F dH is not a normal defrost message. It means a defrost already ran and failed to warm the coil, and a manual thaw only buys time.
