What F144
actually means.
F144 means the freezer door has been open for 15 minutes. It is a door alert, not a failure. If the door is still open at 30 minutes the code changes to F145, and at 45 minutes to F146.

Before you book,

Each step comes from Miele's own guidance for F144 on its refrigerators. Follow it to the end: the last card says whether this is a visit.
Close the freezer compartment door.
Look for anything, such as a drawer, a package or ice, that is keeping the door from sealing.
Give the freezer time to recover before you decide whether the food is still frozen solid.
Cleared?
Nothing needed repairing. If the refrigerator does not settle back to temperature, that is a separate problem.

It is not a cooling problem. For the fresh food door, the equivalent codes are F141 to F143.
