What PO
actually means.
PO is Maytag's power outage notice. It appears after power returns if the refrigerator was without power long enough for the freezer to reach 18°F or warmer, together with three alert tones. It tells you about the outage and the warm freezer, not about a broken part.

Sort through the freezer for anything that softened or thawed, and decide what can be kept.
Check the fresh food side, which lost power for the same length of time.
Over the next few hours, confirm that both compartments return to their set temperatures.

Nothing needed repairing. If the refrigerator does not settle back to temperature, that is a separate problem.
