What ALARM symbol

When the freezer set temperature flashes and the ALARM symbol lights up, the compartment is warmer than it should be. Gaggenau lists three causes: a power failure, a large load of fresh food, or a problem with the appliance itself. The symbol goes out without any help once the compartment gets back down to the set temperature.

Note that highest temperature. It tells you how warm the food got.
Work out which cause fits: a recent power cut, a big load of unfrozen food, or neither.
If neither applies and the ALARM symbol stays on, call customer service.

It is not the door alarm, which ends as soon as the door is closed properly. Buttons do not respond while a warning message is showing, so an unresponsive panel here is expected.
