--- title: "Monogram refrigerator showing SAB" description: "What SAB means on Monogram refrigerators, what to check before booking, and when it is not a failure at all." url: "https://refrigeratorrepair.center/error-codes/monogram-sab/" --- # Monogram refrigerator showing SAB SAB on the control means Sabbath mode is on. ## What SAB actually means. SAB on the control means Sabbath mode is on. The refrigerator keeps cooling normally, but the controls and the main light switch stop responding and every other display light goes dark. Only SAB, alarm and + stay shown. Monogram refrigerator display What to do when SAB shows on the refrigerator ### Kind of code Mode, not a failure A setting somebody chose, or an alert it raised on purpose — a showroom mode, a door or power alarm. Nothing has broken and no part is needed. ### Usually leads to No repair Hold the alarm and + keys together for five seconds to turn the mode off. ### Shows up as Refrigerator Not Cooling The compartment is warm but the appliance still has power and still makes noise. ### Make Monogram GE's built-in and column line, specified with the cabinetry. ### Source GE Appliances support: Monogram 30-inch Integrated Bottom Freezer Refrigerator - Sabbath Mode Monogram 30-inch integrated bottom freezer refrigerator. GE Appliances says other Monogram refrigerators need a separate Sabbath kit. ## Before you book, in this order. Each step comes from Monogram's own guidance for SAB on its refrigerators. Follow it to the end: the last card says whether this is a visit. 01 Hold the alarm and + keys together for five seconds to turn the mode off. 02 Expect a delay of 15 to 25 seconds before the compressor starts in this mode; that is by design. 03 After a power cut the unit returns to the same mode, so switch it off again if needed. ### Cleared? Nothing needed repairing. If the refrigerator does not settle back to temperature, that is a separate problem. ### What not to do Unresponsive buttons and a dark panel with SAB showing are not a control failure. ## What you may notice with it. Hold the alarm and + keys together for five seconds to turn the mode off. ### Why do the buttons on my Monogram not respond with SAB showing? In Sabbath mode, pressing keys or the light switch deliberately produces no change you can see. The refrigerator keeps cooling normally in the meantime. ### Why does my Monogram compressor start late in SAB mode? In this mode the compressor waits 15 to 25 seconds before starting, and that pause is intentional. Hold alarm and + for five seconds to leave it, and note that it returns after a power cut. --- **[Read on the site: Monogram refrigerator showing SAB](https://refrigeratorrepair.center/error-codes/monogram-sab/)** **[Book a visit with RefrigeratorRepair.center](https://refrigeratorrepair.center/schedule/)**
