LG refrigerator display · also shown as E rS, rS What to do when ER rS shows on the refrigerator ### Kind of code Sensor circuit A temperature sensor reading outside its range, or the wiring to it. The reading is confirmed with a meter before any part is ordered. ### Usually leads to Controls and sensors A refrigerator cools to what it believes the temperature is, and a sensor reading wrong is obeyed perfectly. ### Shows up as Refrigerator Freezing Food Lettuce frozen solid and milk with ice in it, in a compartment that is not supposed to freeze. ### Make LG French door refrigeration with linear compressors and heavily instrumented controls. ### Source LG US support: refrigerator error code list (archived January 2025) LG uses FS for the freezer sensor and F dS or r dS for the defrost sensors; the prefix varies by model. ## Before you book, in this order. Check whether the fresh-food side is too warm or too cold, and keep an eye on the food. If it comes back, it needs a visit. ### Is there anything I can do at home about ER rS on my LG? LG offers no owner fix, because the sensor or its wiring is shorted or disconnected. Keep an eye on the food and book a visit with the model number handy. ### Why does changing the temperature not help with LG ER rS? The board can no longer read the fresh-food compartment, so it has nothing to compare a new setting against. Adjusting the dial just adds guesswork until the sensor circuit is repaired. --- **[Read on the site: LG refrigerator showing ER rS | RefrigeratorRepair.center](https://refrigeratorrepair.center/error-codes/lg-er-rs/)** **[Book a visit with RefrigeratorRepair.center](https://refrigeratorrepair.center/schedule/)**
