Check that the model number begins 253; OP is read from the Sears chart for 253.7031 French door models. If it comes back, it needs a visit. ### Does OP on my Kenmore 253 mean the power went out? No, OP marks an open sensor circuit, as if a wire to the sensor were cut. Which display it is in tells you whether it is the freezer or refrigerator sensor. ### What if the sensor tests fine for OP on a Kenmore 253? Sears checks the connections to the control board and measures the sensor off its harness first. If the sensor is good, the wiring or the control board is looked at next. --- **[Read on the site: Kenmore refrigerator showing OP | RefrigeratorRepair.center](https://refrigeratorrepair.center/error-codes/kenmore-op-253/)** **[Book a visit with RefrigeratorRepair.center](https://refrigeratorrepair.center/schedule/)**
