When the freezer set temperature flashes and the ALARM symbol lights up, the compartment is warmer than it should be. Gaggenau lists three causes: a power failure, a large load of fresh food, or a problem with the appliance itself. The symbol goes out without any help once the compartment gets back down to the set temperature. Press ALARM OFF. The signal stops and the display shows the highest temperature the compartment reached for a few seconds. If it comes back, it needs a visit. ### Why won't the buttons on my Gaggenau respond while the ALARM symbol is lit? While a warning message is on the display, Gaggenau locks the buttons, so this is expected. Press ALARM OFF to stop the signal and read the highest temperature reached. The symbol clears itself once the compartment returns to its set temperature. ### When should I call about the ALARM symbol on my Gaggenau? If there was no recent power cut and no large load of fresh food, and the symbol stays lit, the appliance itself may have a problem. That is the point to contact service. Keep the peak temperature you noted to judge the food. --- **[Read on the site: Gaggenau refrigerator showing ALARM symbol](https://refrigeratorrepair.center/error-codes/gaggenau-alarm-symbol/)** **[Book a visit with RefrigeratorRepair.center](https://refrigeratorrepair.center/schedule/)**
