--- title: "Electrolux refrigerator showing HI" description: "What HI means on Electrolux refrigerators, what to check before booking, and when it is not a failure at all." url: "https://refrigeratorrepair.center/error-codes/electrolux-hi/" --- # Electrolux refrigerator showing HI HI, H or High Temp means one of the compartments has gone past its safe limit: 26°F or warmer in the freezer, or 55°F or warmer in the refrigerator. ## What HI actually means. HI, H or High Temp means one of the compartments has gone past its safe limit: 26°F or warmer in the freezer, or 55°F or warmer in the refrigerator. Electrolux says the usual cause is a door left open or not fully shut, though a changed setting or a poor door seal can also do it. The alarm can be muted, but the indicator stays on until the temperature is back to normal. Close every door firmly and look for anything stopping one from sealing. If it comes back, it needs a visit. ### How warm did my Electrolux get before HI showed? Press Clear Alerts and the panel shows the highest temperature reached. Use that figure to judge the food. ### Why is HI still lit after I muted the Electrolux alarm? The indicator stays on until the temperature is back to normal, even with the sound silenced.
