--- title: "Dacor refrigerator showing Or | RefrigeratorRepair.center" description: "What Or means on Dacor refrigerators, what to check before booking, and when it is not a failure at all." url: "https://refrigeratorrepair.center/error-codes/dacor-or/" --- # Dacor refrigerator showing Or Or on a Dacor column refrigerator means Override, a setting for homes on a utility demand-response (Smart Grid) program. ## What Or actually means. Or on a Dacor column refrigerator means Override, a setting for homes on a utility demand-response (Smart Grid) program. With Override on, the refrigerator ignores the utility's signal to cut back its power use. Or flashes up for 5 seconds when Override is switched on or off, and again in the fridge temperature display when a utility signal arrives while Override is on. Dacor refrigerator display · also shown as Override What to do when Or shows on the refrigerator ### Kind of code Mode, not a failure A setting somebody chose, or an alert it raised on purpose — a showroom mode, a door or power alarm. Each step comes from Dacor's own guidance for Or on its refrigerators. Follow it to the end: the last card says whether this is a visit. 01 Check whether the Override indicator on the panel is lit; if so, Or is expected. 02 To turn Override off, press and hold Override for 3 seconds; a chime sounds and Or shows briefly. 03 Leave it on if you prefer the refrigerator not to be managed by the utility company. 04 If the compartments are also warm, look for other messages before assuming Or is the cause. ### Cleared? Nothing needed repairing. If the refrigerator does not settle back to temperature, that is a separate problem. ### What not to do Or is not an error and does not mean cooling has stopped. Check whether the Override indicator on the panel is lit; if so, Or is expected. ### Does Or on my Dacor mean the refrigerator has stopped cooling? No, Or relates to Override for utility demand-response programs. It shows when Override is switched on or off, or when a utility signal arrives while Override is on. Cooling is not what it reports. ### Should I leave Override on for my Dacor? That is your choice. With Override on, the refrigerator ignores the utility company's signal to reduce power use. Holding Override for 3 seconds turns it off. --- **[Read on the site: Dacor refrigerator showing Or | RefrigeratorRepair.center](https://refrigeratorrepair.center/error-codes/dacor-or/)** **[Book a visit with RefrigeratorRepair.center](https://refrigeratorrepair.center/schedule/)**
