E5 is listed in Bertazzoni's table as a problem with the freezer's frosting sensor. As with the other codes in the table, the manual says the refrigerator can keep cooling and freezing, but asks for a technician. It is a sensor report, not a statement that the freezer has warmed up. Bertazzoni refrigerator display What to do when E5 shows on the refrigerator ### Kind of code Sensor circuit A temperature sensor reading outside its range, or the wiring to it. The reading is confirmed with a meter before any part is ordered. ### Usually leads to Controls and sensors A refrigerator cools to what it believes the temperature is, and a sensor reading wrong is obeyed perfectly. ### Shows up as Refrigerator Freezing Food Lettuce frozen solid and milk with ice in it, in a compartment that is not supposed to freeze. ### Make Bertazzoni Italian refrigeration sold alongside the range line, mostly built-in and integrated. ### Source Bertazzoni User and Installation Manual, RFD36FZNX / RFD36FZNW French door refrigerator (us.bertazzoni.com), code table, E5 row Bertazzoni's 36-inch freestanding French door refrigerator RFD36FZNX / RFD36FZNW. Record the code and the model number. If it comes back, it needs a visit. ### Is E5 on my Bertazzoni an emergency? The manual expects the refrigerator to keep cooling and freezing with E5 showing. It reports a problem with the freezer's frosting sensor, not a warm freezer. Checking the freezer daily with a thermometer until the visit keeps you informed. ### What should I tell service about E5 on a Bertazzoni? Quote E5 and give the model number. That points the technician at the frosting sensor for the freezer. The rest of the appliance can keep running meanwhile. --- **[Read on the site: Bertazzoni refrigerator showing E5](https://refrigeratorrepair.center/error-codes/bertazzoni-e5/)** **[Book a visit with RefrigeratorRepair.center](https://refrigeratorrepair.center/schedule/)**
