--- title: "Bertazzoni refrigerator showing E2" description: "What E2 means on Bertazzoni refrigerators, what to check before booking, and when it is not a failure at all." url: "https://refrigeratorrepair.center/error-codes/bertazzoni-e2/" --- # Bertazzoni refrigerator showing E2 E2 points to the temperature sensor in the freezer compartment. ## What E2 actually means. E2 points to the temperature sensor in the freezer compartment. Bertazzoni notes that the refrigerator can still cool and freeze with this code, but a technician should be called. The freezer temperature shown on the display may not be trustworthy until it is repaired. Bertazzoni refrigerator display What to do when E2 shows on the refrigerator ### Kind of code Sensor circuit A temperature sensor reading outside its range, or the wiring to it. The reading is confirmed with a meter before any part is ordered. ### Usually leads to Controls and sensors A refrigerator cools to what it believes the temperature is, and a sensor reading wrong is obeyed perfectly. ### Shows up as Refrigerator Freezing Food Lettuce frozen solid and milk with ice in it, in a compartment that is not supposed to freeze. ### Make Bertazzoni Italian refrigeration sold alongside the range line, mostly built-in and integrated. ### Source Bertazzoni User and Installation Manual, RFD36FZNX / RFD36FZNW French door refrigerator (us.bertazzoni.com), code table, E2 row Bertazzoni's 36-inch freestanding French door refrigerator RFD36FZNX / RFD36FZNW. Follow it to the end: the last card says whether this is a visit. 01 Note the code and the model number before calling. 02 Check the freezer with an appliance thermometer rather than relying on the display. 03 Keep the freezer door shut as much as possible until the visit. 04 Tell the technician the code is E2 so the freezer sensor is checked first. ### Still there? It usually turns into [controls and sensors](https://refrigeratorrepair.center/services/controls-and-sensors/). Book with the code and the model number. ### What not to do It is not a sign the freezer has stopped freezing. The code names a sensor, not the cooling system. ## What you may notice with it. Note the code and the model number before calling. If it comes back, it needs a visit. ### Can I trust the freezer temperature on my Bertazzoni display with E2? Not fully, because E2 names the freezer temperature sensor. Use an appliance thermometer instead until the repair. Keeping the freezer door closed helps in the meantime. ### Has my Bertazzoni freezer stopped freezing because of E2? Bertazzoni says the appliance can still cool and freeze with this code. It names a sensor, not the cooling system. A technician should still check the freezer sensor. --- **[Read on the site: Bertazzoni refrigerator showing E2](https://refrigeratorrepair.center/error-codes/bertazzoni-e2/)** **[Book a visit with RefrigeratorRepair.center](https://refrigeratorrepair.center/schedule/)**
