LG refrigeration is French door led, with InstaView and Door-in-Door models, and LG builds in self-reporting: Smart Diagnosis sends troubleshooting data to the LG ThinQ app on Wi-Fi models or by audible tone. Those reports are a useful starting point, and the physical checks still decide the repair. Most LG service is on French door refrigerators, including InstaView Door-in-Door models with a separate door compartment. Door-in-Door units have more doors and seals to check, which is worth knowing when a unit runs warm. ### A folding center mullion On LG French door models the left door carries a folding mullion that keeps cold air from escaping between the doors, and it has to be folded in before that door closes. A bent or sticking mullion lets cold air out at the center, which can show up as a warm refrigerator rather than as a door complaint. ### Ice made in the freezer, stored in the door The ice maker feeds an in-door ice bin, and LG notes that ice stacking unevenly can make the ice maker misread the bin and stop. Frost on the feeler arm or in the delivery chute has the same effect, so no-ice calls often end at the bin and chute rather than the ice maker itself. ### Smart Diagnosis before the visit On the models that have it, Smart Diagnosis sends troubleshooting data through the LG ThinQ app over Wi-Fi, or as an audible tone from a speaker on the right door hinge to a phone. Running it before a visit gives the technician the refrigerator's own reading to start from. ### Linear compressor noises LG lists a rattle when a refrigerator with a linear compressor is jarred while running as normal operation. A single rattle after a bump is not a symptom; persistent noise together with rising temperatures is. Parts Common parts such as ice makers, fans and water valves are widely available. Door assemblies with InstaView glass are larger items and more likely to take time to arrive. Repair or replace Most LG repairs, including ice, fan, sensor and control work, are worth doing. Sealed-system work on an older unit is the point where comparing against a new refrigerator makes sense. Book your LG visit ## What we are called out for. Yes, if your model supports it. The LG ThinQ app collects the data over Wi-Fi, or the refrigerator plays a tone from the speaker on the right door hinge into your phone. Share the result when you book, but treat it as a starting point rather than a verdict. ### My LG ice maker stopped although the bin is not full. Why? Ice can stack unevenly in the in-door bin and make the ice maker think it is full, and frost on the feeler arm can stop production as well. Level the ice and clear any frost in the chute. On a newly installed unit, allow about 48 hours before expecting ice. ### The InstaView light does not come on when I knock. Is it broken? Check the conditions first. The light answers two knocks on the glass, it will not come on while the right-hand door is open, and it ignores knocks for two seconds after the door closes. If it still stays dark, book a visit. ### What is the flap on the edge of my LG left-hand door? That is the folding door mullion, which seals the gap between the two French doors. It must fold in before the left door closes; a bent or stuck mullion lets cold air escape and can leave the center of the refrigerator warm. --- **[Read on the site: LG Refrigerator Repair | RefrigeratorRepair.center](https://refrigeratorrepair.center/brands/lg/)** **[Book a visit with RefrigeratorRepair.center](https://refrigeratorrepair.center/schedule/)**
