Bertazzoni is an Italian maker best known for ranges, and its refrigeration is a smaller line of built-in columns, built-in bottom-mount and French-door units, and a few freestanding models. The built-in units are frost-free, run on a touch-screen control that reports its own error codes, and breathe through a condenser behind the toe kick. The refrigeration range is built-in refrigerator, freezer and wine columns from 18 to 36 inches, built-in bottom-mount and French-door units, integrated 24-inch bottom-mount models, and freestanding French-door and bottom-mount refrigerators. Built-in and freestanding units are serviced very differently, so the model number matters from the first call. ### The condenser is behind the toe kick On Bertazzoni built-in columns the condenser sits behind the front toe-kick cover, with a filter in front of it. Bertazzoni asks for cleaning every six months and the display reminds you with a 'Check Cond' message, so a unit that runs long often simply needs that service. ### Error messages on the touch screen The TFT touch control shows messages such as 'Fridge too warm' and, for problems the owner cannot clear, an error number code. Pressing the Alarm button brings the message up again, and writing it down before booking helps the visit. ### Demo Mode looks like a working fridge A unit that came off a showroom floor can be left in Demo Mode, where lights work and temperatures show but nothing cools. It is worth ruling out on any newly installed Bertazzoni that never got cold. ### Paired columns must be aligned as a set Columns installed side by side are joined at the front and have to keep an even gap at the back and top. When doors on a pair stop closing cleanly, the alignment of the pair is part of the check, not just the gasket. Parts Bertazzoni is an imported brand, so parts for the less common built-in models may not be stocked locally and can take longer to arrive than for volume brands. The model and serial number from the rating label let the right part be identified before the visit. Repair or replace A built-in Bertazzoni column is fitted into cabinetry and often paired with a matching unit, so repair is usually the better answer. A freestanding model with a sealed-system failure is a closer call. Book your Bertazzoni visit ## What we are called out for. On Bertazzoni, most often refrigerator not cooling. What does that mean? It is the six-month reminder to clean the condenser behind the toe-kick cover. Bertazzoni says to switch the unit off, let the condenser cool for about 30 minutes, then vacuum it gently with a soft brush. Reset the reminder afterward. ### My new Bertazzoni has lights and shows a temperature but is not cold. Is it broken? Check for Demo Mode first. Bertazzoni notes that a former showroom unit may still be in this mode, where the display and lights work but no cooling takes place. If it is not in Demo Mode, book a visit. ### The door on my Bertazzoni column is hard to open right after I close it. Is that normal? Yes. Bertazzoni designs the door to seal tightly, and a brief vacuum forms after closing; waiting a few seconds lets the pressure even out. A door that will not close fully is a different matter, and it causes frost and warm temperatures. --- **[Read on the site: Bertazzoni Refrigerator Repair | RefrigeratorRepair.center](https://refrigeratorrepair.center/brands/bertazzoni/)** **[Book a visit with RefrigeratorRepair.center](https://refrigeratorrepair.center/schedule/)**
